5 Search Engines Better Than Google | 2020

Search Engine is the most used and important tool of the internet. You literally cannot work on the internet without a search engine. A good search engine with better search results can save a lot of work for the user. If someone asks you how many searches are available over the internet most of us would able to name two or three only, say “Google, Bing, yahoo” and for many people, Google means the search engine. But there are many other search engines available on the internet that work more than fine and in many cases better than google. There are a total of 140+ search engines are available on the internet, which many don’t even know until you read the last line.

There is no doubt that Google is one of the best search engines available on the internet. With its ever-evolving algorithm and personalized user experience, Google has hoarded a global market share of nearly 90% which is really huge. For many people, Google is the best search engine with no alternative. Let’s check out five (05) search engines which can be sometimes more useful than the  ‘Gaint’ Google.

1. BING

Bing is the second most popular search engine present on the internet. One could argue that bing can actually outperform Google.  Bing brands itself as “decision engine”, aiming to present results with more real-world context than just finding text on a page. Bing also powers Yahoo’s search, which, coupled with Bing, serves 32.6% of US internet searchers. On the other hand, Google currently has 64.5% of the US’s search.

If you want to get rewarded by using a search engine than Bing should be your first choice. Bing also has a reward program that allows someone to collect points while searching on the Bing search engine and you can redeem these points on Microsoft and Windows stores. Bing also has an image search GUI which is superior to its rival and much more intuitive.

2. DuckDuckGo

DuckDuckGo is one of the most popular search engines on the dark web. If you’re looking for privacy that you may not get elsewhere than DuckDuckGo is surely the best option. DuckDuckGo does not store any of the user’s personal information. “Our privacy policy is simple: we don’t collect or share any of your personal information,” the website homepage says. It does not allow trackers to track you and encrypt your connection while searching. DuckDuckGo also has a simple site-search command it calls “!bang syntax” that makes searching one website a lot easier. To use the DuckDuckGo search engine you have to first download a web browser name tor

3. YANDEX

Yandex is the most popular search engine in Russia and it outperforms Google in Russia. More than 57% of Russian Internet users prefer Yandex for getting the exact results especially if the query is area-specific i.e. Russian based. It is also very popular in countries like Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Ukraine. Yandex is an overall easy-to-use search engine. It also offers some pretty good tools for better search results. In Russia, Yandex is by far the biggest search engine.

4. GIBIRU

Gibiru is the perfect search engine for those who want uncensored search results for free. It provides an Express VPN button on the homepage to download and use it. It also does not track you neither share or sell your data for making money like DuckDuckGo. It does not allow any ads to track you for selling any items.

5.ECOSIA

Berlin-based Ecosia is perfect for those who love nature every second even while searching web. Ecosia funds the planting of a new tree roughly every second. The personal counter in the top right corner represents the number of searches you have performed with Ecosia. It takes roughly 45 searches to plant a tree.

Clicking on ads generates revenue for Ecosia, which is paid by the advertiser. Ecosia then uses at least 80% of its monthly profits to plant trees where they are needed most – in Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Peru, Indonesia, Morocco, Brazil, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and many more countries.

Even if you use an ad blocker or never click on ads, you can still contribute to the movement by increasing the number of Ecosia users. The more monthly active users Ecosia has, the more relevant it becomes to advertisers.

  1. This list is amazing. Thanks for this. I didn’t realize there are so many search engines, although why shouldn’t there be? The world is a big place. Thanks
